Q: I am trying to set up COBRA Administration service for one of my clients.
Where can I find more information regarding your services?
A: The fastest way to get information on our service is by completing the request proposal form via our website, as it asks specific questions, allowing us to better serve you. Q: What size/type of groups can CobraHelp provide COBRA administration services to?
A: CobraHelp can administer COBRA for any Employer--small businesses, mid-size, or large corporations with groups health plans in all 50 states. CobraHelp's diverse background has given us the experience and industry knowledge to understand unique HR compliance needs from small bakeries, to large oil and gas companies. We've seen it all. Q: Once I have set up my client with CobraHelp, will I be able to access my client’s COBRA information?
A: Yes. As long as the client has authorized you as the Broker of Record on the service agreement, you may access COBRA information for the client via our secure web portal or work directly with your dedicated account manager.
Q: Does CobraHelp offer commissions for brokers?
A: Due to our extremely competitive pricing, and the customizable service options, CobraHelp does not offer commissions at this time.
Q: How many active insured employees must my client have in order to be required to comply with Federal COBRA regulations?
A: An employer should comply with Federal COBRA if there were 20 or more employees during 50% of the typical business days in the previous calendar year.
Q: Does CobraHelp pay carrier bills for my clients’ COBRA participants when premiums are collected?
A: No, CobraHelp will remit the COBRA premiums to the Employer on a monthly basis. From there, the carrier billing is ultimately the responsibility of the employer.
Q: How do I report a newly insured employee to CobraHelp so that my employee receives an Initial Rights Notice?
A: The Federal government mandates that all employers complying with COBRA must notify all employees and dependent spouses of their COBRA Rights using a model notice within 90 days of enrollment into group health benefits. Q: I am a new broker for a CobraHelp client. How do I notify CobraHelp of this change?
A: The client must provide a written request to add you as the new Broker of Record via e-mail, fax, or regular mail to the attention of the account manager.
Q: I’d like to be billed for my client’s service through CobraHelp. Is this option available?
A: Of course. We welcome broker and third party participation. Please contact your account manager to set up broker billing for your client(s).
Q: My client needs to cancel or change CobraHelp service. How do we do this?
A: The client (employer) should send a written request to the Account Manager 30 days prior to the service end date or change being requested (per service agreement).
Q: I have several mutual clients with CobraHelp and cannot remember the Account Manager(s) name and contact information. Where to do I find this?
A: The Account Manager assigned to your Brokerage, is listed in the contact information for your groups is available on each Welcome Letter emailed to you/your clients at the time of implementation as well as on your web portal dashboard. Q: Is an electronic/online payment option available for CobraHelp service fees?
A: Yes. We currently offer several types of electronic payment for clients and brokers including credit, debit, wire transfer option, ACH, and check.
